Lost 1 quart of Oil in 1 week Help

That would be the relief plug, and would cause massive oil leakage if not sealed properly. Item #10?

You do have a mivec engine in your evo viii correct?
I remember reading a thread in which someone asked if you could use an evo ix block and a evo viii head...and there was never a definite answer BUT
one of the things that were mentioned to be different in the blocks is the fact that there is a galley or some type of opening on the block somewhere that the mivec motor has that the viii did not (I believe it was on the black passenger side of the block)...it may be a long shot but compare diagrams of both motor and make sure you have that opening plugged
worth a try...

Yes i have a "COMPLETE IX ENGINE" in my evo 8 shell, So my car has nothing of a evo8 that has anything to do with my engine.
Yes the oil is actually pretty dark compared to the oil that i checked on the dipstock its still golden brown.
Ive been trying to find that oil dye around locally but they just think im stupid so im going to order some online i geuss.

If you didnt tighten down your t-belt tensioner all the way oil will leak out of there. You will get it on your belt (likely) and you will see it dripping from the lower timing belt cover and it will go all over the oil pan etc etc etc. Other than that. Cam seals, Front main seal.

I keep coming back to the cam seals to but if you dont see oil behind the gears with the cover off its likely not coming from there.
I doubt you have a bad main seal on a almost new IX motor unless it was damaged in transport.
Id retrace the whole timing belt job step by step and you should find it. Definately get yourselr some oild dye. That stuff works great
