wierd problem?(vid)

After the car is fully warmed up, this is what happens when i drive it at wot....or just hitting the gas in netureal as u see:





my mechanic says that he thinks it is the sender,that the guage is not working propely...i just dont want to overheat and blow up, plus i dont want to spend money on a sender if thats not the problem.i was thinking thermostat but he says he dont think so.......

Im thinking it has to be the sender. Think about it... if a thermostat kept open, when you rev up, it should get hotter, not get extremely cold...

Its the sender of gauge malfuction. Go to mitsu and get a new one.

Think of it as a water pressure gauge . Definitely check with Mitsu about the sender.

lol wierd wright, ya we pulled the thermostat and he said(racing results) it looked fine.....

Are you running like 84 psi of boost? cause then you'd just be running out of gas

ya we pulled the thermostat and i was about to change but the stupid autopart store gave me a lancer thermo..but my mechanic(racing results)said he highly doubt thats the problem he said the therm looked fine....

me thinks sendunit or cluster short, my bets on a short somewhere in the sensor wiring.
