How to fix a blown coupling

I was driving the other night and blew a hole in my coupling between my LICP and IC inlet. I tried a few things to fix it until I get a new one, but none really worked. Finally, I came up with this. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

First: The problem

And the Solution:

When I tried it out and it held 20psi.

I think that is up there with the invention of the lightbulb.....

Tried it, it held up to get me home from where it blew(about a 2 hour drive), but just isn't as reliable as 2 bush light cans.

There is this great story in "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintanance" Where one motorcycle rider's handlebars are slipping on his brand new BMW. The other rider suggests a shim in the handlebar clamps. The first rider's eyes light up, and asks where he can get a shim... the man with the idea says "I just happen to have some shim stock right here" reaches back and pulls out a beer can. The BMW rider is aghast with the idea of fixing his cherrished Bavarian ride with an ordinary beer can, and rather than allow his bike to be fixed... he rides the remainder of the trip with slipping handlebars till he can bring his motorcycle into the dealer to be fixed.

I think this fix it's rather inventive. neccessity is the mother of invention.

Good job McGuiver!

Kind of........I'm using it until I get my new one. They don't stock couplings anywhere by me, so I had to do something
