This probably won't be an issue with you, but in FL, with the heat, the tranny does not like the II. I have ran both, first 1, then I tried the 2, I went back to the 1. The differences are:

BG I: Works better when warmed up.

BG II: Works better cool (the first 5 mins. of driving in FL), once warmed its too slick.

Are you using Amsoil gear lube for your tc and rear diff?
Only using Amsoil in my engine and trans. TC and Diff is OE fluid.

Well actually it will be an issue for me due to the fact that I will be stationed in Tampa for a year so I will have to put this into consideration. Thanks for the heads up.

I was going to buy some Amsoil today, but NAPA didn't have the correct one. All they had was the synchomesh.

I haven't tried AMSOIL tranny fluid yet, but I hear its even better than BG II. BG, BG II, and Pennzoil synchromesh have acceptable fluids to use in the Evo transmission (5speed), and imho are much better than the OEM diaqueen fluid (ask anyone who races their Evo.)

I can't stand when people say only use Mitstubishi factory fluids. As long as you use GL-4 your fine. Shep uses a mixture of bgII and mt-90 and AMS uses all redline. I had my tranny, transfercase, and rear diff. fluid changed at AMS. They put mt-90 in the transmission, lightweight shockproof in the transfercase, and heavyweight shockproof in the rear diff. They also added some special additive to the rear diff. My car shifts like butter now.

Yep, that Redline wax in the small passages in the transmission works great, if you're trying to plug them up....
