Vibration Problem

I am completely lost and am looking for the root cause of a problem i recently encountered. This past week i have done some major work to my car and now i get a really loud vibration through the exaust every time i go past 3k RPMS. 2 days ago a friend of mine did the balnce shaft belt, timing belt, tensioners, and water pump. 3 days before that i did a turbo install. immediately after the timing belt job the car drove normal for a couple hours, and when i got on it on the highway ramp, the motor hesitated really bad almost like it hit a rev limit and made funny noises. The boost stayed up but the car wasnt accelerating like it should be. It would go in and out, sometimes acting fine and sometimes not so much. It really sounds like there is something loose on the downpipe but i checked all the bolts and they were all tight. The sound is like metal vibrated really fast through a thin pipe. and when i hold my hand on the exhast while someone revs it, i can feel it reverberating through the pipe. Any ideas... so far i have heard some people say the motor mount, but i wanted to get your opinions. ThankYou

Well to put the new turbo on i had to change the 02 housing and the downpipe, i drove it for a few days with no noises until after the timing belt job.

I wouldn't drive it far... maybe 20 miles a day... i had to go to class if I didn't have to do that I would have walked to work.. just loosen up the timing belt and adjust the balance shaft 180 degrees and check all the timing marks.... worked for me...

Also, check to see if your downpipe is rubbing up on something. Mine was rubbing up against one of the bars under the car, so I used a spacer to give it some room. Problem solved.

If it's closer towards the engine it's probably rubbing up against the oil pan, might have to hammer the downpipe.

think its the balance belt... since it didn't start doing it after he messed with the belt

Gotta be the balance shaft. i had the same problem when I bought my Evo used, and I had the dealer fix it under warranty immediately. It took them 3 weeks to figure out what it was. It's loud as hell.

100% correct. He put the balance shafts 180 out. Happens to alot of people. 1 thing you really need to look at when doing the timing job on an EVO and any car with balance shafts for that matter.

About 3k you'll feel like your cars coming apart

so now my question is how do i fix it, do i physically turn the blance shaft 180 degrees. I dont understand how this can happen, i am 100% sure he lined up with all the timing marks. so the balance shaft can still be 180 degrees out even if all the timing marks (crank, cams, balance shaft) are right on the money?
