I drive an LS1 FC (second gen rx7). I love Evo's too but there's just something wicked about making it yourself when it didn't start that way. If you really want to look into this your key reference is:

well if the Evo is payed off, keep them both, i mean c'mon.

 

i daily drive my S2000 12 months a year; rain, snow, ice. this will be my 4th winter coming up! i learned to control the rear end in snow storms on vacant roads. best driving lesson i've had since learning clutch when i was 15

Hey pork my friend just did a LS1 swap in his RX-7. Only issues there having is some wiring issues. It was a backyard slop build LMFAO! Should be pretty awsome. With Slicks

 

Did he do anything to the rear end? That's usually the limiting factor for power delivery particularly when slicks are involved. The cobra rear is pretty popular and there are a couple guys working on turbo v8 swaps now who will definitely need the strength.

 

hey porkroll - i'm in NJ too. i have a FD for sale with brand new LS1 motor built by Cartek (12k mile or 12 month warranty), c6 z06 clutch, coilovers, 17 inch Fiskes, kirk rollbar, accusump, oil cooler, all that. silver. $23.5k. Rx7s look sweet but the evo will be much better in the snow

 

I had a rx-7 with a T-88 greddy. I now have an evo. I live in ohio. I drive year round. Keep the evo or you will probably regret it if you get rid of it, oh and let us not forget how much your gonna spend for all and tuning and maintenance . nuff said?

i have a evo and my roomate have an rx7... i driven both cars and i said the evo is alot funner to drive and city driving with evo is alot better than rx7 considering the gas mileage it gets for a 20 gallon tank.. i live in chicago and have no problem with evo in the cities...matter of fact..my buddy is sellin his rx7 soon and might get an evo instead :P

i would keep the evo...my brother had a 94 rx-7 and it was a rattle trap....there fast with a single bigger turbo but the ls1 sounds wild....but id still keep the evo
