Honestly I dont think I considered the STI when I bought my Evo. There are alot of Subaru's in our town and at the time there were no Evo IX's and I wanted one. Plus I was trading in a 3G eclipse so I went to the Mitsu dealer.

When we bought the STI, I didnt consider getting another Evo either since we already had one - Although if I had thought about it I should have given Rach my Silver Evo and got a new Wicked White Evo for myself. Instead I got her a White STI with gold wheels. She really digs it and I can appreciate it as a performance car but I prefer my Evo. I pretty much agree with the review on page 1 or 2. About the only thing that the STI does better than the Evo is interior climate control although I would have to give the stereo to the STI as well.

Same here I see an sti maybe every 3 weeks... although I have seen like 4 evos since I got mine 6 months ago. I have to admit I still lust after a 05 white sti with gold bbs's. Maybe I'm just pissed my car is silver

I did not test drive too many STis when I was shopping for cars, but the ones I did drive were earlier ones and they seemed to plow through the turns (understeer, understeer, understeer). The Evo feels so much more agile!

Plus, the seats in the Evo are fantastic!

Tuning Potential..... Period. I also like the looks a bit more and there are too many STi's around here.

I drove an STI (friend's car) at Buttonwillow. I'd describe its track personality as "safe and unexciting." It didn't have much power either and gearing was too low.

The Evo is much, much better...

Most reviews I've seen claim the EVO is just a tasmanian devil that corners almost before you decide to start the corner. The STI is capable just not as visceral an experience. That said, I built a V8 RX7 instead of either because I wanted something a little more home brewed.

i picked the evo over the sti cause i always wanted an evo. The sti's hood scoop was a turn off and the evo just looks better.

I think that's a valid reason to choose the EVO over the STi. The EVO responds better to mods...especially the IX. I can't wait to start modding mine.
