Why did you pick the EVO over the STi?

They are both so very close in terms of price, performance, insurance, features, etc.
I went with the Evolution because it had more soul (irrational) and a much better warranty (rational).

Yea, the EVO 9 definitely has more power than the 8, I was just saying
And I don't know how much the EVOs powertrain loss is but for the STi that puts out 300 crank HP the mustang dynos usually put them down around 215 awhp which is a huge amount less. The reason you might not see Stage 2 STis hitting 300 whp is because of these dynos

Oh yea.. and I've got a thing for white cars too. Our white with gold wheels subi is flat out gorgeous and to me makes my lancer look a little plain jane.

Yea but the Evo IX's with just a TBE and a MBC are hitting 300+whp on Mustangs.. all day long. My IX makes almost 350whp in DLL which I'm sure would equate to well over 300whp on a Mustang and all I have is an exhaust, drop in, and ECU boost control and a tune. I dont understand your point in blaming the Dyno for the Subaru's low recorded numbers - please clarify that point. The Dyno is just a measurement tool, it's not to blame because a car produces lower numbers than anticipated.

And the 215 whp thing was saying that that is what most dyno stock on the mustang dynos in my area, whereas on nasioc I have seen many dyno well over 300 whp on regular dynos, many hitting 320whp with just Stage 2 and a tune as well. My point was I don't think that those dynos mean much because in that case my STi would dyno at 380 to the wheels with stock turbo and injectors/internals etc..which I do not think is the case
Despite the numbers stock STis and EVOs are running almost identical 1/4 mile times but I definitely agree with you that the EVOs still are making more power with cheap mods, which is what makes the EVOs so awesome.
