This thread should be a sticky in the "Cars For Sale" section.

A lot of people abuse their Evos

My stock clutch is at 20k and still going strong.

My car is creeping up to 60K on the original stock clutch and it feels great. I think the key is don't launch a car that still has the original clutch. Evo's were designed as road going rally cars not road going drag cars. Those that don't launch and still get hardly any miles out of their clutch need to learn how to shift. Get wise people.

I talked to a gentleman when I was at CBRD getting tuned a little while ago who has 97K or so miles on his car still on the stock clutch, now that's impressive.

+1... I'm at 50k now.... Launching an evo is a crapshoot...when i did drag mine, I got maybe 1 out of 3 launches just perfect. and that one launch is like a slingshot...
another clutch killer is the attempt at burnouts.... LOL
I'm also surprised, since on of m co-workers took my car for a spin, and it came back smelling like clutch for 2 days!!!!....I'm guessing that this episode shaved about 10k miles of life off of the clutch.
I had to drive super careful the next week to make sure the clutch didn't glaze over....

6K miles. Damn dragstrip made me do it. A twin disk going in next week it should hold up better.

I really don't get why people drag Evo's.

i had a twin , so in my nine the stock stayed less then 6 months. When we took it out it looked perfect. But the first 6 months i did not even pushed it.
