Would you want an Evo 8 with Sportronic?
It would definitely be a great thing to have if you drive in traffic a lot, but would the decrease in performance be worth it?

Its an automatic transmition that you tell when you want it to start thinking about shifting. Then like 2k rpm later it decides to shift. Atleast thats how 95% of them in comercial cars work. There is a bmw (I forget which one) and race cars that actuate a the clutch and shift a manual transmition that are effective, but also expensive.

mitsubishi's sportronic is you just put in in drive and go, however you can move it to the right and you can move it up + to go up in gears or down - to downshift.
again what would be the point of buying a sports car with an auto?
if i wanted an automatic, i would have bought like a ****ing lexus....

The new Mitsubishi Galant will have have a SportTronic tranny... But the HP is somewhat 250.. Which is not badd... But i still dont get what is the difference.. Or it is just same as an automatic, but can have different shifting RPMs.. Which might be a lil better.. For lazy people... LOL!

I haven't driven a semi-automatic tranny that I've liked yet. The smg on the M3's is ok at best IMHO. I've driven 2 360's, one with the clutchless sequential paddles, and another with the standard manual, and despite the fact that gated shifters are a royal pain in the ***, it felt superior. I feel like I have more input with a standard manual, even though the argument can be made that not having to take your hands off the wheel affords better vehicle control. I'll never get used to not having to use my left foot and right hand to control the car.
