Well, if the Focus guys are shooting for 300+whp (up from ~112whp), then the Evo is going to have to make 600+whp to match that difference. Should be interesting how this turns out... Plenty of opportunity to f-up the Evo, since it is such a good platform to begin with.

You know? Every car I have ever read about Skunk 2 building, has blown up.
Let me correct that, every Honda they've built has blown up, with the exception being the FIT they built for the TV show last time, but that was turbocharged.
I hope they didn't can that 4g63....it would really, really be bad for them.

They want to win this time.
Thats why he picked the Evo for this street tuner challenge.

Keep in mind the competition isn't who's modified car is faster on the track, but who makes the largest time improvement over stock.
Any updates on when they are going to air the on-track competition?

personally, i think that there should be a set spending limit, and the teams must pick cost effective upgrades, not blow $50k on upgrades just because you can... where does that really cross with true car guys? most of us arent made of money and the show isnt called "look what i can do to a car with tons of money invested"... its called street tuner CHALLENGE.... whats really the challenge, if you can buy all the crap you want (or is given to you through sponsorship).....
ive seen every episode, and love the show, but look at that evo and think "wish i could afford to do that".... i prefer the shows where they have a limit of $5k(or any somewhat attainable $$$ amount by normal people) and have to REALLY challenge themselves to pick the best bang-for-the-buck parts.. then all of us are really tuning in, watching what a big corperation is spending their $5k on...and then truly testing those parts to see how well they work together.... its like them doing all the hard work, and you just copy it.. hey we could be chinese(sorry, lame knock-off car parts joke)

I hate watching that show now. It seems they keep playing the same episodes every time I watch and they only spent like 3 mins talkin about the evo. not once have I seen the evo run (excpet the opening scene where it does donuts)
