Problem with switching the car over to heat. Worked the other day, not anymore.
So its getting cold here lately and ive been using my heat just fine. Today, as I was leaving work it was drizzling/sprinkling and about 45-50 outside. So im pretty cold since I have to walk a way to my car with no jacket.
I get to my car, start it up & go to turn on the heat. I turn the knob to the center, then try to pull it into heat mode... and its like the knob is STUCK. I can physically move the dial to heat, but when I let off it moves back to the 1-2o'clock position.
Also, as most of you know, moving from A/c to heat... once you get to the middle position, you feel through the knob it switching open to the heat & you have to give it a little force...well, that force doesnt come through anymore.
Im thinking my wire some how got seized up from getting cold. I think if the wire could heat up, it would switch over but I cant turn on the heat and I freaking froze all the way home.
Suggestions? I called Mitsu & they cant even get me in for another 8 days! WTF... I need this heat, like now. Very inconvenient.
EDIT
Found the problem. Bent line.
Pic of line with a/c on.
Pic of bent line when attempting to turn on the heat.

The part the cable connects to and the part under it come as a kit from the dealer for $15. Get the kit and replace both. The new parts are redesigned. They forgot to make them work the first time.
