The length of time the wheel slips for isn't relevant, it's how much it slips as compared to total traction. If it loses all traction, even for an instant, it will be a very big shock to the drivetrain.

i think what tends to kill it worse is all the wheels spin, lose traction or whatever, then the one wheel grabs finally and the computer decides well hell, we have traction, might as well send the power there.... and POP goes the axle

this is why when racing the 1/4, and you are spinning your wheels, you dont let out of the spin until they grab on their own

the guy at the dealership just told me that its not going to be covered most likely because "the warranty only covers defective parts"

wow, is it really that easy to brake an axle like that? I am going to be driving my evo in winter, and this kind of worries me.

probably cause when i think of alaska i think of people living in igloos and walking all over this big deserted stretch of land with high winds and snow blowing everywhere...not sitting in a nice warm evo ripping it up on some ice...

if your car is stock, you should have no problems getting it covered under warrany. would they say anything about the tire studs? or is that something everyone does up there?

last time i checked when a part breaks, its considered defective. dont let them deny your warranty claim, get a lawyer if needed

Thats garbage. I agree with EvoJoeIX, though if need be. Before you actually get a lawyer threaten and say "Ill see what my lawyer has to say about this."

I want to know what happens.

Definately should be covered by your warranty. You are a dying breed, lol(the unmodded).

They will cover it under warranty and if they dont then fight it. I just blew my tcase lastweek cruising down the highway. My car is fully modded and the dealer is said they might warranty it, so you will be fine with your stock car.

I would ask them why they are denying warranty coverage while they haven't even seen the vehicle yet.
