you install a downpipe or TB exhaust? Mine did that after downpipe install. Hopefully it's not one of your struts going out, suspension mods? You'll have to let us know what mods you have or just done recently.

About a year ago I had a clunking noise coming from the front driver's side. It ended up being the spring rubbing against itself when it compressed. I put a small piece of rubber hose on the end of the spring and never heard it again.

Not sure yet if it has suspension mods..i just bought it a couple of weeks ago and it just started making this noise. I was planning on pulling the wheels of this weekend and taking a look. I know it does have custom exhaust and spearco intercooler. It has 29,000 miles on it

I have similar noise from the rear...with my BC coilovers. I've always thought it was normal cause I had the same noises with my previous car on Tein coilovers.

The extent of what i've checked is just making sure everything was torqued to spec.

Mitsu is known for lower control arms and ball joints. The nosie is the same you are going through. I had a 97 gst with the same problem would clunk sometimes and sometimes not. It was the lower control arm. I would also check the strut mounts if they are getting dry and going they will also make the same noise..

Do you have the under tray on?

There's like a piece of metal that's riveted onto the car in the center. The under tray is then riveted onto that piece. If the under tray is gone and that piece is there, it'll make a clinking or rattling sound during 1st gear accel or at low speed bumps and stuff like that.

evos are just noisy if you try to elimitnae all the noises especially clunking noises in the evo you will never get to drive it. i have tryed several things to stop the clunking noises that the evo makes in several evos it always makes noise. just enjoy your car

I don't have any pics, I just slid about 3-4 inches of rubber tube on the end of the spring. Some aftermarket springs come that way, that's where I got the idea.
