I wouldn't pay any higher than $18,000 if I could help it. With an '03 and those many miles you don't know how long you've got on the clutch, T-case, and tranny before something needs to be fixed/replaced. You'll really need to test drive the car and if anything is wrong with it see if the dealership will fix it at no additional cost. If its an individual than you had better do some shopping on parts and labor before you buy. I went through a similar situation with an individual and got a great price on the car but paid my dues later on fixing everything that was broken.

The price is a little high. I paid 21500 for an 03' with 34k on the clock. Also as long as the car has been taken care of they are reliable, but if its still on a stock clutch plan about 1400 or so for an ACT clutch and labor. Take for a test drive and offer them 17500 and see what they say.

Dam i bought my car two years ago in late 05 for 20g's with a supposed 10k invested with 18k miles on it. The stock tires on it were bald and they said they just put in a new clutch. What did i do ?I said lets gets this paperwork done.lol. to this day still worth what i payed for it in a trade in. Only 23k on a 03 Evo 8.

Thanks for the help! Its much appreciated. The mileage bothers me but the lower I go in price the faster I can pay it off and build a motor. I'll keep everyone updated. THis would be my first evo.
Im also looking at superflyevo's car in NE OH. 17K miles but a low price with a tranny issue (2nd gear problems) Asking 20K, trying to go lower. How much can you get a used lower mileage tranny for an evo, or what other good trannies can you replace them with?

GL on your Evo.
Curious though, is it common that a TCase gets replaced in these after that many miles? And the tranny problems?
And clutch, I'd look at maybe an ACT-HDG6 if you don't mind puck-style clutches. If you can do the labor yourself, you can easily do it under 800.

look at the interior and paint if it is in a good shape - I mean no scatches dirt, filth, food in a car, seats are not worn and a good paint without swirls, clayed and waxed always indicates the car has been lovingly taken care of.
this is a very accurate indicator if a car was used just for a transportation or racing needs ot been babied.

Also, most stealerships wax the cars before they put them on the lots, or deliver them. So condition of the paint (swirls, wax, clay) isn't really something to go by.
