When I bought my Evo (I'm the second owner) I was informed that I get the 5yr/60K but not the full 100K warranty.

Warranty coverage is different between the '03s and other MY because Mits changed their warranty coverage. We rec'd 36mos/36K warranties.

Differences are here:
http://www.mitsubishicars.com/MMNA/j.../warranties.do

'03 Evo warranty is available on Mits' web site here:

On page 5 it states:

"Coverage Application
This coverage applies to all owners of this Vehicle during the stated time and mileage limitations."

If you have a choice in dealerships, I'd stay away from the one who tried to screw you out of warranty coverage. They know what the rules are and were simply attempting to defraud you.

The stealership was willing to cover mine, probably depends on the dealership's shistyness/laziness ...it shouldn't matter since it is a manufacturer's warranty.

+1 the warranty is attached to the car. not the owner. although, good luck getting them to honor it.

with the 03's the warranty is up. As far as i know, unless people bought extended ones. It was a 3 year, 36k or something like that... so almost 2 years ago it ended. I know that i got a new "service agreement" for another 50k or 5 years. Soooo, maybe your VIN the warranty is up if its an 03... and yeah, the STEALERships are worthless... lol. they try to get out of everything.

wouldnt it be nice if we had the same care suby has... they get track memberships for buying an STI... im jealous... and they warranty S#^t when it breaks. not try to get out of it...

UPDATE:

I informed the stealership of what MMNA (Mitsubishi Motors of North America) said about it shouldn't matter what owner I was as long as I was within the mileage and year of the 5yr/60K, and it didn't seem to concern the stealership at all!?!? I would think a dealership would be scared if their customers where calling corporate to complain but I guess not. Anyways I have a case open now with MMNA to get my spoiler fixed we will see what comes of it all. Thanks for all the feedback guys.

Finally after many months... Mitsubishi of North America and Phil Long Mitsubishi came through and took car of my spoiler and to my surprise it was the Evo8 spoiler. I was crazy worried I was going to get a 9.

P.S. Three of the months was simply waiting for my car to get out of the shop from my previous thread.

Thanks again Phil Long and Mitsubish of North America
