Car accident last night...need advice

I got into a wreck on the FDR last night at around 4 AM , I was switching lanes when my car went out of control I slammed into the barrier and bounced off and slammed into another one.... My whole front end is ****ed .. both airbags deployed car was mangled....

I need advice on the insurance part , its under my fathers name we got full coverage will the insurance company cover it considering I was driving? I wasn't drunk on the police report speeding or anything crazy just a regular addicent.

Any advice appreciated im still in shock and hurtin.... car was my pride and joy

Pics if anyone is interested

Are you listed as a driver on the policy?

you should be good still... if the insurance is under your old man's name and you were driving it.. issurance shoudl cover it. You can always say that you don't drive on a regular basis and needed to that night to do something (whatever that may be) and insurance should still be able to cover all the damages.

I would call up the insurance company and ask them if you are covered.

I'd take your insurance policy and sit down with an insurance expert or lawyer before contacting your insurance company. Your wording to them could be everything.

I don't know how it works out in brooklyn but maybe you can just change your home addy REALLY fast??? I think you live with your aunt and unlce now right? haha or maybe even your grandparents... because you got into it big time with your parents and you moved out.. but you and your father had a moment of peace and he said "son... I'll let you take my evo for a spin".....

you need to be listed as a driver on his insurance policy for that car... if not its gonna be hard getting them to cover it since they know you were driving the car from the police reports. most insurance companies have a certain age you need to be over to be covered if your driving someone elses car. for instance on my insurance, anyone under 25years old is not allowed to drive my car....

My advice is to insure the car in your name. If you can't pay for mistakes / accidents, then don't try and cheat the system. This is the same advice I give people regarding warranty work on modified cars.

I'm glad nobody was killed, but I won't say that I am sorry for you because you were really trying to screw over the insurance company in the first place, and now I'm sure this thread will be cluttered with people posting about how you are the cause of higher insurance rates on older people (your father).
