Are both sides of the PCV system intact in the car? I've seen engines with 10 times more miles cleaner than that.

amsoil used to make an engine cleaner that you put in with your oil , I don't know if they still do . maybe the amsoil users have some input . I used it on an old golf a girlfriend had and her valve cover looked worse than yours , it looked like new afterwords .

adrynalinjunkie;

Don't you know the answer to my question or is there another reason you won't respond to it?

Sorry there fireman, I have been working 14 hour days and haven't had time to do much, even see my kids.

I did look for a minute when I was doing the shifter bushings and it looks like there is a hose coming out of the drivers side going down to the MAF ?or somewhere and then there is a hose on the rear passenger side that has a black metal PCV lookin thing, anyway I am going to change the PCV valve for sure and get a catch can, now I am going to research that Amsoil cleaner!

I did change the oil with Mobil 1 and Mobil 1 Filter, might switch to Amsoil though if they can get this out.

I am still in shock, I figured a car with 17K would have been still new inside, the PO must have driven it the way I do, I just wished he would have maintaned it the way I am now!

I do own a comp tester and a leakdown tester, so I can monitor.

check

Take a closer look at those hoses if either end is open on them that could be your problem. A catch can isn't going to keep your engine cleaner unless it's hooked up right. Which side are you going to put the can on or are you going to do it right and get 2?

Hell yes I am going to do it right and get 2,I am probably going to get the Sasiko DC-3 if I can figure out how to order from him, the link I got off here just shows the DC-3 and you can't click to HOME or contact info

I haven't research were to hook them up so I am open to suggestions.

I am going to look at and print the PCV info fro my genuine Mits service manual CD that I just got, thanks to some criminal on ebay selling them!
