what they do is they take an evo ecu and ignition from one car thats a match then changes ecu which take a minute then wires in the new ignition that matchs the immoblizer in the key and ecu.
thats you can steal an evo... takes an evo to steal an evo.... my friends got stolen and a guy that was a rep for viper alarm explained it then told us how viper can keep that from happening... their system works very well
Cheers!

The price to replace all the missing stuff with OEM + repairs, more than likely insurance will deem it a total loss. I'm sorry this had to happen to you. I hate to see any car, let alone an Evo, have that done to it.

wow you guys should buy a better alarm if they are opening your hoods and killing the alarm that way. generally alarms come with hood levels that if installed properly, will trigger the alarm if the hood opens up.
sorry about the loss though. keep an eye out for other evo people... cause i second the idea it was an evo owner doing this...

actually the car doesn't look that bad, it does make me angry too tho, but looking at it, they took all the easy bolt on stuff, seats can be put back easily, bumper, intercooler. there is no body damage, and it is a evo 9 the car still worth a lot of money. You can find lots of stock used parts to put this car back together. full interior, stock intercooler, seats, stock bumper are easy to find.

i agree, although to look at the only bright side, he can get ins. money to settle the claim and buy all aftermarket parts for cheaper.. i/c, seats, front bumper, rims, tires, brake system, wing, etc.. or stay wingless and use that money to buy other mods.. all of those items can most likely be purchased for cheaper than oem, and he can have a nicely set up car afterwards.. this could be considered a favor if you look at it that way.

weird how they didnt break the ignition collumn and how they could get passed the Immobilzer of the alarm and of the ecu.... get a pic of the Ignition lock cylinder so we can see wut damage they did to it and if they took out the ecu or sumthing...
but it is pretty funny because the front bumer has a vin number on it as well as the wing... if a hood gets popped and they see the vin number scratched off or even still there and they run it.. the car will get crushed due to that new law of stolen parts on cars... hahahahahaha
