Almost rear ended, by ANOTHER EVO!

PVD, good post.
More often than not, two vehicles caught up in one situation, leads to one vehicle/driver taking the brunt of the discipline from the officer.
Police officers, I feel are obligated to behave themselves and pass on a good message to those around them, so if this guy was an off duty police officer, I feel that calling in a badge to handle the deal would've been appropriate, if there was an incident that needed correction.
I dont see street racing.....and people tailgating, for ANY reason, off duty officer or NOT, is unnecessary and dangerous to boot.
Simply brake checking someone isn't appropriate either, because it solves nothing.
The right thing to do in this case? Proceed to slow down to an intolerable level until the vehicle either hits you or passes you, OR backs off.
It may not be legal, or appropriate or even safe.....but tailgating AND brake checking are not appropriate, I could give a damn about a badge.

This is why I think so little of cops. Simply because of this fool, the cop, that keeps on posting on this thread. Chicago’s finest? a joke indeed my good sir. Yeah blah blah bash me, go ahead ban me. But seriously, im going to voice my opinion. Instead of arguing on these forums and picking on people going 45 mph on an empty road while trying to provoke them so you can make an arrest, why don’t you go ahead and get drugs off the streets and prevent a murder? Are you completey incapable of that? For this you're going to pick on someone driving home from work? You were probably one of those kids in school that bullied everyone around and could never mount to anything. Of course you couldn’t go to a four year college or even an institution. That is when you decided to assume the role of what you could do best. Which is bully people around. No you don’t prevent murders nor do you solve them. Instead, you go around being a bully and abusing your power. To think we waste our tax money on you fools. Is it not illegal for you to do what you did? What if a higher power were to see this thread? Why are you threatening the man for saying what was on his mind. He insisted that he could’ve brake checked you, but he didn’t. It was just a thought...So now you have the right to threaten someone because they were thinking something? There was no intent there, nor can it be proven. Please sir don’t harass me for stating the truth.
And here you come bashing the cops with your uninformed propaganda...Just for a split second imagine if in fact he did race with the other eVo and you happen to be driving from a party that night after having a few yourself but still being sober to drive...and one of the street racers smashes into you...and paralizes you...or even worse kills you or your passangers...Who you're gonna call...? the GHOSTBUSTERS? Just a simple fact that its late and nobody on the streets...and the ones who are driving are ones coming back from clubs/bars...who do you think would get blamed for the accident given the fact a drop of alcohol is found in your bloodstream? Get a life...the only way cops can prevent things from happening is what they see or hear...As far as what you've mentioned...the solution is simple... only allowing certain kinds of individuals to procreate...and that's up to the higher power...son... You think anyone is willing to take a bullet for someone the society does not care about for a starting pay of $45K...who are you? You come in here and question the reason why cops become cops...interesting...needless to say...FYI...I have more education under my belt then you...most likely then not judging by your reading and comprehension skills...even though it wasn't Ivy League I still ended up with two degrees to my name...so again who are you and what do you want?

yea thats me... a "tailgating ****." I understand your point, but you gotta ask yourself, is it worth it to damage your car, possibly yourself, and the other person? I don't think so. By the way, a lot of cops do this to make sure they can get your license plate, so don't brakecheck them!

I love that the (supposed) cop is getting super offended.
I love that other drivers are also getting super offended.
I love that the situation has suddenly become a bunch of "Ifs" and "Could Haves".
Don't you guys (those previously involved in the argument) realize how stupid you are making BOTH of your sides look?

I'll break check anyone who wants to ride so close to be a jerk. I don't care if it's a stupid cop or someone else, I'll lock em up tight, let the other person hit me. I'll just say I had to dodge a precious animal and also that my back is killing me.
The OP is well within his rights to be pissed off and want to brake check this other loser.

It seems many of you are not paying attention. The cop posting here is not the cop involved directly in the confrontation. He was just a witness & did not do anything wrong. The other cop it seems paced the guy to make sure he wasn't going faster than he thought was within reason over the limit (unsafe). The cops then pulled off & let the guy go because he was an Evo owner & wasn't breaking the law to any great extent. After reading all theese facts you still sit & criticize the officers after they let him go. From what I have seen in the past the people who have a problem with cops are people who are always breaking the law. I've had a few instances where I have been pulled over for stupid things like dark window tint in a modified car & while the reason I was pulled over was "tint" I knew it was so they could check & make sure I wasn't doing anything wrong. I'm always polite & do as I'm asked with no feedback unless asked. most of the time they will just check things out & issue a warning. Would it have sucked to get a tint ticket & have to get it replaced yes, but the bottom line is its not leagal so I'll have to pay the consiquinces if someone decides to write me up. Of the last 2 times I was pulled over for speeding I was let go by one & the other said he clocked me at 75 in a 55 (I was going almost 85 when I hit the brakes) hethen said he was going to site me for 65 in a 55 so as not to put any points on my license. The ticket ended up being $22.50. It just goes to show that If you are nice to the cops they are generally nice in return. Sometimes it doesn't affect whether you get a ticket or not, but always makes for a less stressfull event. I have been driving for 14 years & have been pulled over many times (mostly speeding). I have had only one cop be a dic to me from the get go, however he calmed down because I was not an arrogant *** back & just gave me a ticket for
speeding. Sorry for the long post, but it seemed thatt many of you lost the big picture here.
