Small crack on windshield......

Just got back from Arizona and now i got a small crack.... anybody ever tried windshield magic? (or the thing they put on it so the crack won't grow and semi-cover it up?) I really don't wanna get a new wind shield right now...

I used safelite. Good work and relatively inexpensive. $50 bucks.

a small chip? is it cracked? if it's cracked it can "spider" out and become bigger... I'd also like to know who else have fill in a crack and which products that are out there works the best...

MRevo2006 ...Does safelite clear the crack too or just prevents it from growing?

It's virtually invisible--what was once a good sized chip now looks like a tiny faint bug splat. They guarantee it not to crack or they'll replace your windshield for free.

There are things you can use from autozone that supposedly do the same thing, but unless you know what you're doing with it it may not work at all or for very long. I don't think the stuff at autozone or the like is of the same quality as the professional setups. Could be wrong though...

You could...but the insurance company keeps tabs on that. You won't get points assessed but the underwriters at renewal time take that into consideration when they make decisions on the base rate of the policy.

Just food for thought.

any glass company can repair chips and bullseyes. they have this suction cup injector that injects a resin into the chip and it seals it. if they are good you will have a hard time locating the repair. grab your yellow pages and look.

Yep, my bullseye fix was $18 and only took maybe 15 minutes from drive in to drive out. Let a pro do it.
