The best week ever? EVO owns STI
Ok I don't want this to sound cocky or show offy or anything but this has to be the best week ever....my dad owns a car dealership. in the past I had an 06 STI then went to 05 EVO. sold that and got another 07 STI. why? I dont know either. now today we bought another 05 EVO VIII and a 06 EVO MR with zex nitrous
this is crazy cause I brought them home (except for 8) and they are all here.
the mr came today...with zex nitrous. but im selling it next week in philly. but tomorrow (friday) i am stripping it down and my baby 8 is getting all the goodies (tails, intercooler, etc)....here is some pics of the STI and EVO MR now...the 8 comes home tomorrow!
now let me say....
EVO owns STI
yes. after driving an 06 sti then a 05 evo...i pick evo.
after driving 07 sti then 05 evo and 06 mr with nos....evo wins.
overall the evo is a much better car I think after comparing the two literally side by side in different circumstances.
here is a few pictures:
the mr runs great...very strong clutch...I would take that too but too much screwing around.
saturday the red viii should be ready to go with the p45rs and everything else.

i dont know which way i fall...i really enjoy driving the sti and find myself in it quite often. I find it drives and shifts smoother, it pulls good, it handles well...its got better interior than mine (non mr) and i like the meaty sound....however i do enjoy my evo better...if i had to choose between stock vs stock and i was starting over...i dont know which one i would choose...its nice having the option of both for sure
nice cars by the way

and I agree with 100% on the beefy sound the STI puts out

Truth of the matter is if your going to mod your car why in the world would you get an STI? Evo responds much better to mods and costs a lot less to mod. Also the Evo handles better and again, costs less to make go faster since it already is faster stock then a stock STI.
STI is better kept with very lights mods like bolt ons and such or just kept stock for DD.
I've driven a couple STI's and actually driven them hard and I'm glad I went with my Evo.
Do you know how much it would cost to get the same numbers out of an STI from what my Evo makes now on Stage 1? I think they need aftermarket turbo setups like 20g's.
That along is a couple grand with the fmic, turbo, supporting mods, and not to mention labor.

I love my Evo, but during my 50 mile (each way) commute to work, I sure miss my WRX.
That weekend when I'm at the track, I remember why I love my Evo so much.
