Anyone thought or done this already?

Convert a Lancer Sportback

To an Evo Wagon

Whole Front End Swap:
Lights, Fenders, Hood, Bumper, Engine (AWD system if you're rich)

Sideskirts, Rear Bumper, and Interior, Brakes

Would it be worth it?

ummmm i like the road you are thinking on, but IMO, its a whole lot of work for a car that the wife would drive, cuz i wouldnt drive that....Id rather spend the cash and get her a subie wagon and mod it....

You forgot about rear quarter panels, wheels, full suspension, steering rack, and subframes/crossmembers. Plus I am sure that I am missing some things.

Or

Have one shipped here from overseas.

Or

STFU and smack yourself in the head

I know they made them BUT

"But as Mitsubishi only plans to make 2,500 of these wagons, with none destined for export, you can put it down as another Japanese rocket that missed the boat to the U.S. "

Those are two completely different cars. Although having a Evo wagon would be BADASS!

That would be really cool to get it done.Would probably cost a nice chunk of change but if you got the cash why not.

I love how everyone thinks having an Evo wagon would be so incredibly awesome, and yet the new STi hatchback is lambasted for that exact reason

I don't understand the point. There's absolutely no appeal of an Evo wagon to me.

It wouldn't be all that hard to do, just costly to collect all the parts needed. It'd be even easier if you just turbocharged the 4G69 it comes with and swap in the AWD system from an Outlander (bolts right up.) If you insisted in a proper Evo conversion, wouldn't be hard as long as you had a donor Evo. All the mount points are there under the car.

You'd also need a really good body guy to redo the rear quarter panels.

I love the new STI hatch! Dont think i could sell my baby for one but i probably could get one and let them sit next to eachother in the garage. Hmm maybe with a wall in between them for safe keeping.

I wonder if it would be cheaper to just import one. Minus the actual cost of the car obviously

i think the hatch look just doesnt match the evo or the sti's appeal. Thus i have no idea why Subaru made the sti a hatch?!?!?!?!?!?! It seems like more of the wannabe import fanatics prefer the sti cuz it looks more badass, idk. So, this just baffles me. and im soo very curious how the sales are really gonna turn out. Same with the evos, IMO anti rally look
