EVO Insurance... are my violations that bad? WTF

Alright so I spent last night doing Auto insurance quotes and with USAA... The cheapest out of the bunch was supposed to be the most expensive...

2003 SVT Cobra which was $487 per month with Progressive was only $287 with USAA...

But when I looked up an EVO... with progressive it just gave "Lancer" as an option and came out to $247.00

but with USAA it was a WHOPPING $597!!! What the hell... I am 22 and these are my violations.

Violation/Ticket Speed 11-15 over limit 06/21/2006 ME
Violation/Ticket Failure to stop at stop sign & yld r.o.w. 03/22/2006 ME
Violation/Ticket Fail to stop at steady red signal light 01/24/2006 ME
Violation/Ticket Speed 16-20 over limit 05/23/2007 ME

Is my driving record SO bad thats why the EVO insurance is rediculous? This is the car I want but hell I don't know if it would possibly fluctuation between insurance agencies... or if I should trust the progressive "Lancer" thing then I get into an accident and they don't cover the parts...

But if my record was SOOO bad then why the hell was an "SVT Cobra" only $287.00 per month.

Why is this crap so different?

hahaha it is pretty true. I thought about trading the Evo in on an RX7 because of cheaper insurance, but I'm glad I kept her. I have a 30 MPH over ticket and the insurance barely went up, so I don't know.

Those are the 2 big ones. Alot of insurance co's penalize the hell out of you for rolling stops and the major penality is the red signal light. Those things make speeding tickets almost meaningless.

I had 3 tickets on my record and some jackass cop claimed i ran a redlight (it was yellow damnit!!), and when that hit my record it went up $50 a month, more than double what the speeding tickets did to it.

But just be patient, itll go down eventually. I'm 32, married, and mines only $62 a month with progressive

Evo insurance isnt that high..... I looked up a bunch of quotes since i've been looking for a new car or 2nd car...

I pay $200 a month on the evo...

205 335i
190 gti
200 is350
yukon denali 195

They were all in the same price range, I was looking to save some money where i can and selling the evo wasnt really going to give me the savings I wanted....

The wierd part is when i got the evo back in 05 my insurance doubled, I've had one ticket in the evo and that was only a tint ticket.

Sick of this insurance bs... Its just going up every year no matter if no one crashes them at all.... Complete BS

I have had 4 violations... not one in the past 8-9 months! And it's reDICULOUS!

What about insuring an EVO under the "lancer" catagory from progressive.... it IS a lancer and they dont list Evolution as an option...

USAA will be cheaper than everyone else. You pay as much a month as I do for 6 months with USAA for the Evo. Post this on NASIOC like you do with all your other posts for opinions as well.

I got a quote a while back from state farm for an evo because I am looking for one. It was only $110/month. I'm only 23, but I have a clean record.

The key to cheap insurance is multiple policies with your insurance provider. I have:

Civic Hybrid
SRT-4
Renter's
Policies on Jewelry
$1M Liability Policy

For all of these total I pay about $180/month with state farm.

Each one gives discounts to each other. I also have a ton of discounts though:

Good Student (Still on there from college)
Steer Clear (watched a DVD)
Multi-line
Multi-car
