geico will crucify you if anything happens to the car. i got hit, but it was stupidly deemed my fault. GEICO tried to tell me i had too many aftermarket parts on the car (i have an exhaust and intercooler, neither of which were damaged). they told me the brakes, acd pump, headlights, and "body kit" were aftermarket and not covered.

after a fight and long explanation from the mitsu dealer the car was sitting at they covered everything to the tune of $8k. then promptly dropped my evo policy due to it being "too expensive for the company". they basically thought that everything is a base lancer.

I have been paying ~150/month since 2004 on full cover on 250 collision deductible with State Farm. I am 32 now with no tickets but I have the following list of claims:

EVO8
- Intercooler & Front lip damaged by debris on road $2k
- Stolen Seats $8K
- Scratched doors $1K
- Damaged hood $500
- Total Loss $15k

EVO9
- Rear corner and new bumper after hit & run $4k

Mazda3
- Rear bumper replaced due to another hit & run right in front of my house $500

Never had any trouble with my insurance trying to drop me or failing to support me on a claim.

I'd say I have somewhat of a bad driving record. However, even with that said and done I got a policy with Triple A (AAA) for $1504. Now that's for an entire year. Which I feel like is near reasonable and even cheap. I'm 23 years old by the way.

God I have such a bad driving record. Like I've got a million tickets for going 5 over. It sucks to have so many pointless tickets add up. Im paying around $200 a month.

It's probably been said (Don't know tl;dr) but...

Saying how much you pay is one thing but including some pertinent demographics would help more.

What state? Near a major city?
Male/Female?
Driving History?
Color?
Continous insurance before Evo?
Any special deductions?
Etc

Without this things throwing numbers out are pretty useless

Hey guys just drove off the lot with my newly leased 2013 Mitsubishi Evo Mr. I see you peoples insurance rates and freaking stunned. Bro, Gieco is charging me $350/m. I'm 24 years old. No points in my license or tickets from Mass btw. My only claim was last year which i crashed into a rear platform on a 18 wheeler that i didn't see while reversing. Damage came out to 3.5k. Why am I paying so much? I'm 24years old and had my license since I was 17. Clean license. Can someone suggest something to me?

$20.40 a month. USAA. 33 yrs old. Have the evo as "stored", since I only drive it for Autocross events, thus the lower premium. Can't remember what it was when I had it fully covered, but I pay $60/month for my other vehicles and imagine it would probably be somewhere in that area.

Comp/Collision/Medical payments/Towing labor on all vehicles. 6 month premium on 4 vehicles are $122, $240, $344 and $372 respectively.

Every insurance company have their own target age range and level of coverage they like to cover. Since your still under 25, your insurance rate is still going to be lil high and plus you jus got a claim. If you have any accidents or tickets, your insurance rate it's going to increase no matter what. Also it depends where you live, year of the car, amount of deductibles you choose, etc. You have to shop around more....

I just got a Evo 9 and if I stay w progressive, they are charging me $1337 but then I found AAA and they gave me $815 for the same coverage...and that's not bad at all for two accidents I have.

And on top of that, New York's rates tend to be a little on the high side, compared to some other states. So comparing with someone from, say, Virginia won't be an apples-to-apples comparison.

Both rates below were/are while living in NYC:

1) Under Allstate back in 2008 in my 1st evo when I was 24, I was paying $375 a month with $1,000 deductible with horrible credit, no accident, 1 speeding ticket.

2) Under Geico now in 2012 at 28 in my 2nd evo, I pay $140 a month with $500 deductible including full glass.
