I have a rack on my MR, and that's why I suggested he run one, because it works fine.

I said q-towers specifically for this reason, instead of regular control towers.

All i found were bolt on kits made for the regular lancers but none for the evo, or should i go to uhaul and weld a sucker on. Thx a lot guys and girls

As far as the owner's manual says not to do it, they probably also say don't ram 40+ pounds of boost down your Evo's gullet or inject meth into the engine, so doing what the manufacturer wants is kind of a moot point.
exactly!!!
i love how people say "THE OWNERS MANUAL SAYS NO!!!!"
scince when do you listen to that damn book???
it also says in the towing section you can tow a vehicle with your evo if it is lesser
in weight. what sense does that make.
call slowboy racing they sold a hitch and it used to be on their website but i can't
find it anymore. i have it on my evo and pull a 200 lb trailer with a 400lb bike on it to trackdays. and it works fine. evo has brakes just as big as my 05 tacoma.
gets better gas mileage with the triler than my tacoma ever did.
check it out you won't be disappointed. sorry i couldn't find the link.

I have looked at the base lancer hitch setup, that should be fine for the bike rack. If you look at the insructions, the kit bolts to the rear crash beam, and then also to the rear factory tie down location.

you would think that if the rear tie down point on the EVO is strong enough to strap the EVO to a car carrier, it should be strong enough to hang a bike rack...

The only downside to the lancer trailer hitch is that you need to cut the rear bumper skin below the license plate.

I was going to do that, but I ended up buying a daily driver beater car instead to haul my mtb bikes.

the yakima rack i pasted doesn't require using a hitch so no modifications to car are needed...

I was thinking about a hitch also. I have a Quad, and need a way of getting it around. I got rid of my first EVO because of towing issues when i first got the quad. So I got a F150. Now got rid ofthe truck for another EVO, and still got the quad. Long story short, I need a hitch too.
