Holy misinformation batman.
EVERY 2004 Evo VIII RS had AC, none had HIDs. None had aluminum roof panels.
Many interior trim pieces are different.
A lot of JDM RSes are so much lighter because they have smaller JDM lancer ES seats and no brembos.
d
EDIT: My 2004 RS was 3080 lbs (on several different sets of racing scales) _stock_

ps I am done arguing about RS weights. They are lighter and I think we should leave it at that

I have seen and ordered the acc belt for a non ac 04 evo. so unless Mitsu changed something since I worked there for over a year I dont know what to tell ya. was the 04 the only year for the RS not to have an aluminum roof? I never heard that

The nice thing about the RS is that you are starting with a lighter car. So when you lighten it further, you are much farther along. And a lightened RS compared to a stock weight MR or GSR is a beautiful thing. Then when you consider that a lot of Evo owners actually add weight to their cars with bigger, heavier rims and who knows how many lbs of stereo equipment, the RS gets even faster by comparison.

Idiot. The word you're looking for is "you're." Nice try though.
Apparently Mitsu's official information regarding the RS' weight is wrong, which I didn't learn until very recently. That doesn't change the facts. If you're trying to say a difference of 100lbs on a 3100lb car makes for a 2mph trap and .2 ET difference, you're completely delusional. Get a clue.

I've owned 2 of these things and I know the specs on them. ITS AT LEAST 200lbs difference! My car weighs 3120 with me and a 1/4 tank of gas....I weigh 165 then add the fuel! SO, IF you can really drive you should be able to pull at least the same, if not a better time than Car and Driver or Motor Trend or whom ever you look at for specs.
I think you should probably read a little closer....I NEVER said that 100lbs made 2 mph and .2 difference......I said that it needs to be MORE then 100! I'm sorry it was kind of a hidden message. Read what you quoted me from before, im being sarcastic! (YOU'RE the one who needs the clue.)

Your 04 does NOT have an aluminum roof. Try a magnet. Magnets don't stick to aluminum (i.e. fenders).
What is the 10th digit of your VIN? I believe that is the last digit of the model year.
d
EDIT: In additional all the aluminum roof panels have a small ridge running longways about 1-2" from the edge of the panel. 04's do not. The aluminum roof was introduced with the Evo VIII MR -- in the 2005 model.

The funny thing is they added the aluminum roof and a shart ton of weight with the ACD. The pre-ACD rs will weigh less than the ACD version.
...... on a side note can someone post a picture of an RS without the center arm rest? I've never seen that. I just drove an 06 RS and it had one.
