RS weight difference...

Hi. I have seen a guy for the last month advertising his XI RS for sale everywhere.

Is not that Im against it, but that he emphasizes the fact that the RS has "such an amazing" weight reduction that can be really appreciated when driving.

Is that true? The specs that I saw about evos shows that the RS is only 40 pounds lighter without spoiler....

Thanks
Kat.

05 and 06 RS have AC. 04 is the only year that some didn't

The difference in the two cars is no power windows, mirrors and locks, no radio/speakers, aluminum roof, no ABS, little to no sound deadening material, non hid headlights with no fogs, no trunk lining

I would say W0459732 is correct the RS is about 125-150 lbs lighter.

it is easier to make a track car from the RS. That is why "race ready".
In japan ,dont even have , brembo breaks, recaro seats, or the enkei rims. Just to keep the price really down.
And because of that, they are limited under 130 mph.
Not like here in the USA, in europe or japan only the racers or serius tuners buying the RS.
I would be happy, if the X RS would come like that in the states, and a lot cheaper price compere the MR or the GSR, just like in japan.
But looks like they will keep it for them selfs.

yeah the RS shifter looks shorter, but i never measured it. And anybody who drive mine it thinks i have a short throw shifter. Specially the MR owners... That shifter is hughe compere to the RS one.

If anyone thinks that 100-125 lbs isnt much of a difference for a car then go ahead and think that cuz Im not even gonna explain how much that can knock off your 0-60 and 1/4 mile times...

that is not a reason why the RS is missing those parts. And because of that it is lighter.
