Evo vs. Telephone Pole. I am ok, car isn't so lucky.

I guess my car is on a roll back for the last time.....:shocked1: I Was driving it about 6:30 last night on a strait part of the country road (NO alcohol involved, or racing) when the car veered right suddenly, and I hit a telephone pole head on!!! Head broke windshield (Even though bags deployed?) Femurs broke steering column, motor pushed back 4 inches, and RAW fuel was getting dumped into the floorboard carpet. WOWZA!! The car ended up with parts scattered all over the road, and the car ended up sideways on railroad tracks. I was more worried about the people coming up to the car with the power lines down, then getting my *** out of the car. Anyway, I am fine, car is done. I will post photos when I get some. Hope your day was better then mine.

The pole actually started to peel the side off the car, and it made it all the way to the base of the windshield before I bounced off the pole. It happened too quickly, but knew I didn't want to get it sideways and wrap it around the pole, and if I cut the wheel to the right, I would have Dukes of hazarded it over the Railroad tracks. I think I made the right choice to tag it head on!!

Was it wet? I'm just noticing that your front left tire is on backward and that promotes hydroplaning. Otherwise, did a suspension component fail? Faulty installation of a suspension part? I'm not sure why the car would just just to the right for no reason ...

I didn't fall asleep, spilled my coffee all over though. Interesting point, it was wet out, not sure if the tire could cause that, but it "tugged" right quickly, enough for me to get off the road, then I was along for the ride. I will have it looked at, to see if something failed or not. It was after a curve, but on a straight stretch of road where it happened. I will keep you posted.

I noticed the tire appearing to be mounted incorrectly as well. Depending on if the other tires are the same way, coupled with the fact they don't appear to have a whole lot of tread, that could have been the cause. Glad to hear you're still alive....RIP Evo
