I had a friend try the zip tie thing. The torrance PD told him that it needed to be properly secured to the bumper with a bracket.I guess it depends on who inspects your car.

I actually just got a no license plate ticket today! It was in my 4Runner tho... dont have one on my Evo either... I didnt have it sitting in my windshied, but you CAN legally have yours in your windshied instead of the front of the car... just put it up there if you park or get pulled over, because it rattles when driving

Pinky - the cost is actually $130.00, good chunk of money they steal from you if you just dont want to do it. I did that last time I got a no plate ticket about 6 months ago and the crazy thing is, the next day I got this no plate ticket which I extended, now I have to take care of it somehow...

evo@24psi - On my previous IS, I've done this a couple times, just crazy glued (or rubber cemented) screws that had the ends cutoff on the actual two holes, and then used double sided tape to attach it to the front bumper, I just wanted to see if there was an easier way before I do it again.

glgz - and to whoever else that just wants to put it on and forget about it, this is what I have come up with.

a) I have been pulled over quite a few times for speeding (going just 5-10 mph over the limit is speeding to some a hole pigs) and they just wrote me off with a fixit ticket for not having a front plate versus a real speeding ticket so not having a front plate may actually save you from getting a real ticket sometimes unless the pig is a REAL BIG A HOLE and gives you a ticket for no plate AND speeding, thats happenned to me once.

b) More and more camera enforced intersections are coming up by the day, literally on almost every intersection, there are cameras, so you have no plates on, you dont need to worry if you pass a late yellow light and the camera flashes and its your car in the middle of the intersection...

Therefore no way, no plates.

I thought of the zip tie idea but it wont pass, they say, it needs to be screwed safely to your bumper, bastards.

Well here in sc we dont have front tags either, BUT our liquor laws are pretty insane. No sales past Seven oclock monday thru sat. Not liquor sales at all one sunday. Beer, before 2 am monday thru sat. Sat at 12 they shut down the bars and no more alcohol until monday.

And what made it even worse is i just had my 21st birthday and it was on a sunday. Luckily we found a little redneck bar in a neighboring town and brought the big 21 in right. Glad that only happens once because when i finally woke up the next day worst day of my life. lol.

My Evo had a front plate on it from the dealer (bracket with holes drilled in the bumper) so I removed the front plate, but I didn't want to permanently seal the holes in case I got a fix it ticket. I went to my local sign/print shop and had them make a set of 3/4" round stickers in the same color as my car (silver) and when I put the stickers over the holes you can't even tell there are stickers there until you get right up to it and look directly at it. That way, I can always go back and easily repunch the hole and remount the plate if I have to.

But they don't hassle us about front plates in the central valley much, so I've never been ticketed for it (on any of my cars)...

I guess you have two choice... Super glue it to your bumper or move to a state that doesn't required the front plate Just kiddin' The bracket is made for your bumper. I would have to say you might need to just drill the hole and make the court and police happy so they can aim their laser gun at your plate next time because them PO are too lazy to aim their gun at our headlights Good luck!

put it on the passanger side windsheild lower right corner.

NO LAW states it has to be on your bumper, just has to be visible.

I REALLY REALLY do not want to make holes in my front bumper!!!!!!! Especially since the plates will be coming right off as soon as I leave the courthouse...

I was just wondering, what is the easiest, and quickest way to make the license plate look like it has been screwed on without actually making holes in the bumper. I still have my plate bracket as well. Any suggestions would really help!!
Hey now! Front plates are important--just think of all those cars trying to get away in reverse!
