ya i would way rather stay away from fwd... regardless of the car... also ifyou mod the evo to get it any where near the performance of a stock evo... it will have no reliability at all...

just my .02

I'd never get an Rsx! Even when there boosted there slow. Plus I live i Jersey. That car would be stolen in a week here! A honda or Acura are great cars, but there are a lot of haters out there that'll want to take it from you or just ruin it. My 2 cents...

my previous car was a 98 acura integra gsr. Mildly built engine, i was pushing a bit over 200 whp (mid 13sec 1/4 mile all day long on street tires). All the suspension tweeks you can think of was slapped on. When i was done, comfort was gone. Road noise was loud. I hated driving in traffic because the clutch was so harsh. Altho, shifting at 9200 rpm is just as a rush as the evo's turbo and the car handled real well. Then smogtest time came around and the headaches began. All said and done, just get the evo because stock it will out perform and out comfort a mildly built rsx.

I own both right now. These are my babies:

I actually voted for the RSX on the poll, as a daily driver i really think it makes a better car. Get your jollies on the R1. For the day to day grind the RSX is very smooth and very economical. I'm getting a constant 33mpg driving in the city right now (vs. the evo's 23). It's super cheap to maintain, ridiculously easy to drive (taught my wife to drive stick on it). It looks sweet on the outside, it's more ergonomic and comfortable than the evo on the inside. And lets be fair here, in the grand scheme of things it really is a pretty fast car. 210hp is no joke either (...nevermind the torque ), the car is more than fast enough for anything you need to do on the streets. I've found that for some reason the ladies love the RSX more than the evo's racer boi looks. AND you get the utility of a hatchback. lets see you do THIS in the evo:

Having said that, the evo is much faster, funner to drive, and comfortably seats 4. If your really interested in speed you can't beat the value the evo brings to the table. AWD FTMFW. And if your heart is set with modding your car you can't beat the gains per dollar you get with the evo too. From searching the forums you can see how easy it is to get huge HP gains with mods as simple as intake/tbe/mbc/and a tune. Don't expect the rsx to ever be this fast.

At the end of the day, you really can't go wrong. both are sweet cars in my book.

It won't be easy to get an Evo in good condition for 20k. I would invest a few thousand more dollars for a newer, lower mileage, and better maintained one. What you save in buying a cheaper car may cost you in repairs later on.
