Thanks for the feedback, I'm taking it off and see if I can get used to it. Does owning an evo make me a " ricer". Is there an age where you are so old you become "ricer" exempt? Does 49 qualify? " Too old to be a ricer!"

yea your too old to be a ricer, but your also exempt from being one cause your an obvious enthusiast driving a '72 914, and an '85 M6. You obviously just have brilliant taste in cars which ricers have none of. Be proud!

It is a matter of liking the evo with or without the wing. I have taken the wing off my car before and put it right back on because I didn't like the way it looks. Yeah cops look at you and spot you easier with it on but if it is something you like why take it off? Don't give anyone including the cops a reason to spot you out, meaning don't do anything stupid while driving on public roads.
As far as going to work in a suit with a big winged car, I used to love it when I was a banker going to work with my EVO and all my customers noticing my car, but that's just me.

I had an 04 RS. and loved the wingless look. I know have a silver 04 with a wing, that I will be taking off shortly. I hate the attention. Esspecially from lil dumb kids, and I stress kids . I'm 36yrs, and want the more mature look again. But I do like the handling the wing has. So I decided to get some hole plugs from Home Depot and use a lil silicone and plug the holes. When I want it back on, I'll just pull the plugs out, and bolt the wing back down.

I didn't realize this would be such a hot topic, thanks for the ideas. Where is a good place to get a wingless trunk? How much $ are we talking? I run track events at gateway and use the back 1/2 of the Nascar oval at 120mph + so I want to be able to use the wing there.
