I just put my wing back on to sell the car and I'm already noticing that people stare more now : ( I hope i dont get any more attention from the police!

 

The estimate to replace the wing on my car after I got in an accident was $1738 for the wing and $40 for the labor. Made it easy to decide on just having the mounting holes filled and running wingless.

 

I love the wing. After having a TB VIII and now a AS IX MR I have noticed
that with the silver wing is less noticable than the black one.

 

i own a rs so i never had a wing but i tell everyone that owns a mr or gsr to take it off. First so the cops will not notice it and want to pull you over and second i think it looks bad.

 

I would like to know what ebay trunk lips fit on the EVO. My GF has a Mazda 3 with a plain little lip and it changes the entire appearance of the car.

I really hate HATE the EVO specific ones currently available. My plan would be to buy a new Lancer trunk right from Mitsubishi then add a lip from some other car (that actually looks good) then paint the entire package.

I don't think that blends with the sharp lines of the EVO. Its rounded and looks like it belongs on a regular bug eye'd lancer like this:



The trunk spoiler needs to have lines not curves.

I also don't think one should even try to pull off wingless unless they have the JDM rear.

 

You guys don't need to go wingless just lower the statue of the wing. Much less attention and compliments my rear end

Wing is just off for the 1st time tonight and it actually looks fine w/o it.
The wing will be on and off from now on.

 

i took it off for a week and also noticed less attention from cops.

 

i removed my wing and painted exhaust less attention for sure

I just found a silver (like mine) 02 lancer trunk lid without the wing for $185. I'll be picking it up Friday. Now I'll have the choice to go wingless or swap my other trunk lid on

 

The wing goes hand in hand with the history of the car, and I don't mind it, so it stays. But maybe I'd think otherwise if I thought it was causing me trouble. Never had any police problems to date, or have been pulled over for something petty... so apparently city cops have better things to do. I even give them excuses like the 20% tint (50% is legal in OH) and no front plate. Knock on wood...
