I totally agree!. I dont want a second car. Its more money to upkeep another car. Plus people look at me as if they never seen a Evo with an R1 on the trailer.

Its not even about the looks, but how functional that is. Now i can take my bike with me on a trip. go to a race track and have fun with the Evo and the R1 at the same time.

Um. Do you rally your Evolution? If not, I can imagine you must have a HUGE mullet.

Request...

I was wondering if the original poster or anyone who is looking into this behind-the-plate install could possibly snap some pics and maybe turn this into a "how to"? I think alot of others including myself would really appreciate it.

I was just going to post that, but yea an 07 R1 weighs 379 lbs dry. Add a full tank of gas and 4 quarts of oil and you're at maybe 395-400 lbs. Street bikes aren't as heavy as the used to be.

all you guys that say no to the hitch are insane. Typical American minded truck, truck, truck. all over the world people tow with smaller and less powerful sedans with no problem. i'm not trying to go 120+mph with the trailer. dont get me wrong, i'll take a truck if you get it for me.

Getting my hidden hitch installed in the comming weeks, ill make sure to post pics soon.

Its only a car, get over it if someone wants to put a hitch on it. they pay for it, not you truck lovers. and not everyone WANTS a truck and a car, regardless of if they can afford it. I know I don't.

Where is everyone coming up with the maximum tow rating? My wifes WRX can tow up to 1500 lbs. I have a Formula vee that I am going to start racing and with trailer it is about 1100 lbs. It would be really nice to be able to tow it with the Evo. Otherwise I will have to get a hitch for the wifes car and use hers and she hates driving the Evo.
