I'm in the market for an '06 Evo MR and am going to take a look at a couple of them tomorrow. I've searched the forum for things to look for when buying a used Evo, and would like to run my list by you guys to see if I missed anything.

Any advice is much appreciated!

Visual Inspection
- Body inspection (panels lining up, paint consistency, condition of plastic/CF bits)
- Underhood inspection (looking for signs of de-modifications, like capped T-joints on vacuum lines, worn bolt-heads, scratches, etc)
- Interior inspection (enough said)
- Wheels and tires

Test Drive
- While engine cold, listen to tappet noise, and if there, ensure it goes away as engine heats and oil gets everywhere.
- Once warm, check gearbox for smooth engagement.
- Listen for driveline noise at various speeds, acceleration in corners.
- Listen/feel suspension as I drive along...for noises, knocking, etc.
- Clutch check: go WOT in 4, 5, or 6 gear (higher the better, depending on what the dealer will let me do...this is obviously on a highway) make sure it doesn't slip
- Boost check: go WOT in 3rd gear and see what the boost gauge will do (should get to 1.3-1.4 or thereabouts) (I like 3rd because I'll have more time to glance down at the gauge than 1st or 2d, and will be going slower than 4-6, making me more comfortable staring at the gauge rather than driving) (again, highway)
- Brake check: hit the brakes hard from however fast dude will let me go, make sure there's no vibration (and I guess nobody behind me) (he'll LOVE this one)

Other than CarFax, which is already done, I can't really remember anything else.

Is this a pretty good inspection?
