Rear Shock Bolt!!! Help Me!!!
i'm trying to install my Swift Mach Sport MR Springs, but the rear shock bolt seems impossible to remove! i tried using a 17mm socket and a breaker bar, but the socket broke! it split in half or something. i tried using another 17mm socket, but that socket started getting stripped! what am i doing wrong? should i use the socket on the nut side or the bolt side of the shock? i just sprayed the bolt with pb blaster so i'll see if that helps. i wanna try to finish this tonight! thanks.

okay so that didnt work. i tried using a torch and that didnt work either. i might need another set of hands to help me. i'm gonna try more pb blaster one more time and see what happens. this is harder to take off than the cam gear bolt!

I am sure that you are loosening the nut in the correct direction, counterclockwise. Try spraying some Gunk liquid wrench on the bolt thread and let it sit for a while. Then use a long breaker bar on the nut and have a friend or significant other hold the bolt with a wrench to stop it from turning. That should be enough.

okay i got it! i dunno what i did, but i got it! i dunno if it was the crap load of pb blaster i sprayed on it, but it finally came loose! i was always able to spin the bolt (the nut would spin with it so i wasn't loosening it). i was spinning the bolt so i could fit a wrench on the nut and i felt it come loose! i hope it's not this hard on the other side! thanks for the suggestions guys.

haha okay now the other side seems impossible. it feels like the bolt is breaking loose, but it's not! the bolt is getting stripped because the socket keeps sliding off. i dont want it to get stripped to the point where i cant even use the socket anymore.

yeah i gave up trying to do it with a breaker bar. i dont wanna strip the bolt. i'm gonna see if i can borrow or rent an impact wrench from someone/somewhere. does autozone rent out impact wrenches?
