I'm looking to spend my tax refund on new wheels.

I'm still on the stock Advans and they have decent tread left.


My question is, which is better, 17x8 or 17x9 for those stock tires? I know 17x9 fit, but is there issues with rubbing or stretching the tire?

If/when I get new tires, will I have any rubbing issues with tires of the proper size for 17x9?

255 for 9 wide. They put the 235 on the 8 wide factory for good fit, I'm sure the stocks will fit, but they will be a bit narrow on a 9 wide wheel.

 

So putting the stock Advan on a 17x9 is probably a bad move?

 

dont think its possible to fit a 235 on a 9 wide

you shouldnt buy rims depending on tires. sell the advans buy the wider size then get new tires

 

I don't mind 17x8, I just remember someone telling me it would work.


I'll stick with 17x8 then.

 

235 will work with 9 wide wheels but they will look stretched
