whats the deal with ACT clutches and there so called "lock-out", im tryin to buy and ACT clutch and people are tellin me not to cause it has a lock out on it. Ill be doing a lot of track racing with the car so the last thing im gonna need is a weak clutch or a clutch with a lock out. Any help on this matter guys

I just had GST install my ACT HDSS clutch with resurfaced stock flywheel and I read about that happening with ACT clutches. After reading through many threads and peoples feedback, I decided I would be OK with my purchase. ACT & Exedy are the two most recommended clutches, I repeatedly see, on the MANY 'Which Clutch should I buy' threads out there.
Good luck with your decision.

I did when I had mine, adjusted the clutch rod, etc to no avail. I would get locked out of second or third gear and get crappy 60's. My problem may be due to my flywheel/clutch combination. If you were to get the HDSS I would recommend using your stock flywheel and getting it resurfaced.

How many miles are currently on your evo? TBH, I would suggest getting a new flywheel of some sort, while you're in it, just to do some preventative maintenance while you've got it open. Rather than having to pay for it down the road, when it (possibly, though not 100% sure) fails. Just to be safe.
I went with the ACT flywheel, (not the super light one) that weighs as much as the stock one, but you can see from the construction that more of the weight is to the center of the flywheel, which IMO, gives faster rev up.
