Pass side floor bump ?

My 05 Evo MR has a raised bump about the size of a basketball that is about 2 " raised. It is in front of the Pass seat in the floor. I thought it was just electrical stuff but its isn't.

Anybody else have this, the car was a carfax one owner and it is in mint cond. but the PO was a autox instructor so I know he drove it like I do

Any ideas?

look under the car for scuff marks, scratches or dents. it is possible that when lifting the car to change tires, etc... the jack slipped off the pinch weld & pushed up the floorboard

It's probably a bulge from being jacked up too much on the passenger side pinch welds. They won't support the car forever. It would result in that kind of damage. I had the same phenomenon on my old Evo 8. I've even thought about having a shop weld in some gussets while it's on an alignment rack.

Sorry man --- odds are, that's what it is.

could you explain this better? what do you mean by too much? too high or too often? are you talking about the normal recommended jack point?

Good question I will be putting slicks on at Autox this year, when I get there, were should I jack with a floor jack?

The front place in the center where the tow hook is and then what, the diff for the rear?

pinch welds all the way around... DO NOT JACK IT ON THE DIFF!!! the pinch welds are a thin strip of metal that is folded over, runs along with your sideskirts under the car..

Yup, and the added advantage is you get the whole front end up at once and same with the rear instead of having to jack each corner.

Care to elaborate? It has always been a common place to lift the rear of the car. I've never heard of any negative feedback.
