just today i had a guy tailgate the crap out of me as well, but instead of getting out he pulls around going easily 20 over, gets in front of me and nails his brakes, luckily i reacted quickly enough to avoid rear ending him but i was all the way on the brakes and thats quite substantial in an evo. just so happens a cop sees all this, radars me going 49 (speed limit is 45 and its legal to go 5 over in florida) while the guys hauling around me, so he pulls the guy over and asks me to pull over as well, the guy ends up getting a ticket for tailgating, failure to follow traffic control devices (speeding), and some other thing for brake checking me. it was quite hilarious and all i could do was laugh at the guy.

I'd love to see someone do that to a redneck driving a Dodge Ram 3500 Diesel Dually....

If it were me I would just act like I couldnt react on time and ram the guy in the rear and flatten his car lol

I varies by state. In FL, we are allowed to have a firearm in our vehicle without a concealed weapons permit as long as the firearm is in a holster or case not on your person. Glove box, on the seat, under the seat, etc is fine. It just needs to be in a holster or a case... Holster makes the most sense...

Honestly, I don't know how you kept your composure through this entire thing. You demonstrated an amazing amount of restraint. As far as the perp goes, he's lucky you were able to keep your calm, even more lucky you did not have a gun. Under different circumstances, that kid could have been growing up without a father. Sad to say, but that kid is the real victim here. Insurance can fix a car, but what kind of impact is that bastard going to have on his child?

Right after the VT massacre I applied for my permit. Its just like insurance, you never want to use it, but if something happens you're glad its there. Thats why I carry everyday - I don't advertise it, I don't go looking for trouble, I just watch out for myself. Too many crazies in this world.

As far as court goes; don't worry about it. You have properly documented the damages, got estimates, filed reports with the police. If you gotta go, get a good attorney (try to get the meanest son-of-a-***** possible), have them subpoena the officers from that night, etc., then press him for all you can. Good luck bud. Hope everything comes out ok.

your lucky he pulled back into the gas station and smashed in your light..... why? because I had the identical thing happen to me except i never pulled over. He forced me to pull over by blocking me in.... then proceeded to walk towards my car with a pipe in his hand. I was reversing down a highway because If i got out he would or ran at me and i had no way to defend myself

I called police station after police station and all they said was "were transfering you to the next town over" after following the guy for 15 minutes he started running red lights to get away from me. (where are the cops!??!?!)

needless to say the ****ing cops never caught him of course and I had to pay 700 dollars worth of damage to my door (on my srt-4).

Oh, he was tailgating me for going too slow, then when i pulled off my exit he through a snapple bottle at my door which dented and has peices of glass stuck in my paint.

Cops go "unless you press charges, we cant do anything for you since that could of been there already. But i want to let you know that if you press charges this luinitic is going to know where you live so i'd be somewhat careful" sweet police work ... and i had proof, i had a 24 year old passanger AND the guy who tossed the snapple bottle had a girlfriend in the car who admitted to him doing it. but thanks catching him after going through 4+ towns though!! (i had his plate, thats how they spoke to his girl)

GOD how i wish we could carry in my liberal state. When he started walking towards my car I would of gotten out and and held him at gunpoint; instead I had to reverse backwards down the shoulder of a highway so he couldn't assault me or my passanger (and endangering live of everyone else on the road). Guy was 27 years old and probably 6'4 but he was skinny. but being skinny doesn't mean **** when u have a pipe in your hand

Well, you shouldn't be feeling bad (although most of us would anyway) about the little kid having to witness his father getting arrested. All this time he had to watch his father acting like a jerk and being a horrible role model. In my opinion, this is a better lesson, as he saw that his father didn't get away free and had to accept the consequences of his actions.

Damn , after looking at the pictures you put up im shocked you kept your cool. you made the right move, when dealing with someone that upset theres only really 2 things you can do, Fight them or keep cool minded. Like it says in the Art of war "Easily Angered" is a weakness, you made the right move man.

damn shame about the evo.

And all you guys talking about guns and shooting people, thats just stupid. People who are fast to pull out guns over something like this are just silly and do not deserve to own guns.

Unbelievable. The other day I was highway-bound (in my friends saturn) and apparently this guy in a pos escort didn't think she was driving fast enough (we were in the far right lane for god's sake). When he finally went around to pass, he swerved AT HER!! Literally at 65+ mph cut the wheel to the right then back to the ledt. I was shocked.

I beg to differ here....

I would only pull out a gun only if I feel my physical well being, and my property's well being were being threatened.....(there are states that say this would be perfectly legal, but in my stupid liberal state I'd probably be charged with excessive use of force)
