Maybe the guy came haulin *** up your left side from behind, so when you checked your blind spot, technically he wasn't there, then once you started to change lanes, he cought up to you and, well, you know the rest...
Glad you weren't hurt. Sorry for your car man!

one rim was bent, along with body damage to the rear left. front left as well (where i hit guard rail). head light is gone but the hood is ok leading me to believe the engine should be ok. the gentleman towing us spent an hour yelling at me and towed the car by an intercooler pipe which im sure will lead to trouble (he had the nerve to yell at me for asking him to stop). that seemed to pull the front bumper off a bit along with the intercooler.

Well its like this the bridge has a medain where the supports are that hold the bridge up and theres a lane on either side of the median/ supports that run the same direction. When I checked my mirrors i was clear but he had to have been in a blide spot behind that support and by the time i started to change lanes he hit me.

Wow, that's a dangerous place to change lanes. I still don't understand how he took off your front end without you seeing him (considering that would mean he was within sight from your windshield).

back in the driving school days they taught us to look in the center (main) rear view first, then in the mirror on the side you want to change lanes into and last, look over your shoulder
always check over the shoulder
