Monthly Cost of owning an EVO

Just wondering. How much does it cost 'YOU' to own your beloved Evo? That includes monthly bill, maintenance, gas, and insurance. How much did it cost when u drove off the dealership?

I dont own an EVO. I wish i did but money is tight in college. I drive a Lancer GTS which puts me back $300 a month minus gas

IMO Evo's are a pricey car, however well worth the money. If its something you really want to purchase i reccomend opening excel and putting in your monthly earnings, then deduct everything you spend i.e (cell phone, food, rent, bills etc...) and that will give you a good idea of what you have to play with. From there it just depends on what you can find at the time. PM me if you want to know specific numbers and we can talk...Good luck.

Other than the car payment, insurance is the worst. Especially if your young/single male and/or have an iffy driving record. The maintence can get a little pricey too, especially since so many of us like to mod. I mean it isn't a corolla or something, even little things like oil changes cost more than a normal car. But it isn't so bad where I would say do not buy and drive an EVO daily, but after 46,000 miles of driving my EVO daily I finally had enough and bought a cheap second car for $1,000.00 and that is my daily driver. Not that the EVO was a horrible daily driver, it just got too expense for me to put so many miles on it in less than 2 years, especially changing out tires, brakes, the oil changes, and the below average mpg, overall just the daily grind was just hurting my pockets, that I found it more economical to own a cheap second car than just the EVO a lone.

I put an average of $160 a month on gas alone, $128 a month for insurance, $300 a month for car payments. So around $550-$650 depending on if it's time for an oil change or if I go on road trips.

I bought mine for 24K with nothing down. I pay about $475.00 a month for the car payment. Car insurance is around $160.00 a month. And gas is usually around $200+. So around $835 a month goes to the EVO and now that I realize that I just **** myself!

I pay:

$373- Payment
$160- Insurance (which i pay every 6 months)
$70-80 Gas per Month
$500-$1200 Credit Card Payment from all the mods I buy per month.

Then I have all my rent/utilities/cell/regular living expenses. I do all of this by myself, mommy & daddy live in another state, havent got a dime from my family in almost 2 years, and I work at Sears as a salesman. I ration my money.

Car=0$ (paid for)
Insurance=$600/half (four all three of our vechicles)
Gas=At least $160 a month (summer=more, lots more boosting, lol)
Maintanence=Approx. $15 a month (if I average one oil/plug change, about $45, every three months)

So, it cost me about $275 a month, not including $ for Mods

Car Payment = $0
Insurance= $520/yr $250 deductible comp/coll
Gas= Varies

So for DD, it's not that bad....

But then there is the track.......
Oil= ~$25 per change 10-13 times per year (Walmart Mobil One , OEM Filter and crush washer)
Drivetrain changes 4x year= ~$40 per (my Mitsu dealer let's me "fill-up" with Super Diaqueen for $20 )
Brake Fluid= 3 flushes a year and ~10 bleeds= ~$320
Track Gas (93 octane)= ~1 tank per day= ~ $700-$800
Tires= $650/yr
Pads= ~$600/yr

Probably missed something else but the track eats up cash, plus increases wear and tear on the car as well.
