i know the 68 will be nothing like the vette, but since you already have the big v8 go for the 4 wheel 4 banger

The camaro is very fun yes.....I have a very well preped Lancer RA....but i am racing that in NHRA.....trying to make it the fastest NA RA. I really do want the EVO though......but the insurance is really pushing me away from it for now.....way too high..... F***in california...... It rains alot here during the winter and gets hotter then hell during the summer...... There is no Mitsu dealer close either..... there is one in Sac which 100+ miles south and one in Redding about 100 miles north.... It blows.... I can't make up my mind...

Your sig says Camaro SS 496. There were 327s 350s 396 Camaros, and some Yenkos and 454s but not a 496SS.

If I were in your shoes i'd get the z06. I love my Evo, but not many engines sound sweeter than the GM small block at about 4,000 rpms. I had an ls1 z28, and that sounded insane when running through the gears.

The evo is much more practical. 4 doors with great power. The evo sounds nice with the jdm bumper. There are more options for power in the evo. Could run e85 if you have it near by. The car can be set up in any combination, DD, drag, auto x, it has better handling! much more rare too, you don't see them enough on the streets

My camaro was a 350 SS but didn't have the matching #'s 350....so i built a big block for it..... hence 496 SS.... I get what you are saying about the EVO's pro's..... Now when you factor in the smog.....what exactly can i do upgrade wise and still pass smog..? I know i can't do turbo upgrades.....but IC pipes and intercooler i can because of smog laws......california sucks for performance......the gas is ok but smog rapes everything.... I don't think there are any EVOs up for smog yet.....maybe next year for the 03's..... keep em coming with the info...

Do you ever need to transport more than more person? Both are great cars, I just find I enjoy driving the Evo more. And the high seating position and larger higher windows makes it easier to merge into traffic. Assuming one is fine with a manual, I can't think of a better sporty daily driver than the Evo.

so one sided...... I am going to do a few more test driving with the cars..... like through the mountains, see if i can take it on the track..... the owners are cool.... They both race different cars in SCCA..... I am sure i can talk them into getting the cars to Thunderhill and run them..... Then i am sure i can make my choice....

And you expected .... yeah just drive them both and neither is a bad decision.
Just curious, I assume you posted in a vette forum, what was their opinion.

An Evo owner complaining about interior rattles? Now this is priceless

Hell my 92 GMC truck with a 4.3 v6 came with 235lbs to the crank from the factory.....now it has 320 Wlbs........ but still passes smog......I need some figures now.... I don't really know of any EVO cali owners that have smogged theirs....

I have a good friend with an 02 Z06 and he drives it daily...he likes it alot, comfort-wise for driving, just a pain getting in and out of (his is slammed too). Other than that, what are you looking for? I say test drive them both till you find yourself heading towards one over the other to drive...Evo does have more room, and handles good in not perfect weather....
