CEL code brain teaser
So recently, my Evo has thrown a CEL code p0300 Random Cylinder Misfire twice. Now for a while, I have noticed the car misses a little at idle when the A/C is off (i.e., low load). Nothing major, just an occasional sputter than I can hear and feel. BUT, here is what really bakes my noodle:
1. The idle was like this for at least 4 months before the CEL came on, now it has come on twice in 2 weeks.
2. This is the really strange part...when I say twice in 2 weeks, I mean exactly one week apart, on exactly the same part of the same road, sitting at exactly the same traffic light (note it may have been slightly after or before I came to the light, but within a block).
HUH?!
Any ideas anyone? How could where I am cause the CEL light to come on?
