to see if i need to buy more parts than i already have.

I wouldn't go VTA unless you're running speed density. Even though you may run fine, you won't run your best. You'll have a serious rich condition between shifts (may produce some flames out the rear with your test pipe which may be a plus).
I'm not terribly familiar with 1/8 mile times. I usually pay attention to 1/4 ETs, traps, and the all important 60'. Report back to us with your slip and I'm sure at least one person can critique it.

you really should put the stock dv aka "bov" back on your IX, if it were say a VIII, i would be all for a aftermarket bov, but the IX is perfectly fine untill you get around about 25 psi, then think about changing.

^^^ The IX DV is a great little unit. Some VIIIs out there would loooooove to have one. Switch back to stock.
The MAF readings will be all screwed up with a VTA. Trust me on this. My buddy runs a Greddy RS in his IX, but he still doesn't have a tune for his bolt-ons. Atleast you don't have the HKS SSQV. We see so many people here who buy an Evo, slap one of those on, and then come here and complain how much the Evo sucks.
If you really like the PSSSSST! sound, the stock DV and an open element intake filter will take care of that.

IMO for your current setup, yes. Now if you have a standalone ECU, running speed density, high boost setup...the Greddy would actually be pretty good. I prefer the Forge or APS Twin Vent BOVs in terms of functionality, but that's all personal preference.
