Battery Fuse

I put in an optima battery the other day and i had to take out the factory 100 amp fuse that was coming off the positive of the battery. Questions is what did that 100 amp fuse go to. The Altenator, fuse box or the starter? or was it a master fuse for my car and all the positive cables should be run to a 100 amp fuse. should i run the altenator strait to the battery with no fuse?

Thanks

All i really need to know is what that 100 amp fuse right off the batter positive is hooked up to. I think it was the altenator. But then again i have never seen a fuse on the main altenator power line. I know starters have one.

According to what I understand from the service manual, the 100 amp is to the charging system, the 60 amp is the acd, the big unfused line is the starter and the smaller 2 unfused lines are everything else. By unfused I mean there are no fuses on top of the battery.

So let me understand this, you could not just connect to the optima without mods?
Which optima?
Bummer.

Yea, The L shape the original battery wires had on the end was not able to bend around the optima battery. I have an optima red top battery. I have the SE Evo so i do not have the ACD fuse line. I keep getting funkey voltage readings. When i start it up i could get as much as 14.6 volts then it will go down to as little as 13.8-14.2 it usually stays around that area. I have a 100 amp fuse on the line right now. I just wanted to ask and make sure.
