1/4 Mile Family Grudge Match 03 Evo VS 06 Magnum 420ci
Im a fairly recent Evo owner, Dec 15th 2007, and my dad, currently the LXForums Big Displacement/Power Adder 1/4 mile record holder, was talking a lot of **** about how cute my little 2.0 liter engine was and the racer boy wing. So i challenged him to a 1/4 mile shoot out with family and vehicular honor on the line. He has a 06 Dodge Magnum SRT-8 with a fully built 420 stroker and 2 stages of nitrous. His best time to date is a 11.2 @ 121.9. I was recently selected to attend Warrant Officer Candidate School and at 20 years old i will be flying helicopters before the end of the year and making more money than the usual 20 yr old. My plan for success is a Buschur HTA GT35R, BR Race FMIC, GSC S2 Cams/retainers, and water/meth injection while retaining the stock block/head, ecu and 93 oct pump. The build up will start when i get back from korea in april with some of the supporting mods and the rest to come later this summer/fall. I'll keep everybody on EvoM posted with my progress and hope to bring honor to the EvoM community this December.

My only suggestion is this:
Trailer the car to Buschur, and leave them your CC.
When Dave says it'll win, return to pick up the car.
Then, and only then, return to race your dad.

The milage isnt too great with the Mag, fortunately he only has to drive to the bank and the post office, but even then he gets no more than 10 Mpg. Thats one of the joys of working at home. As far as the car is concerned, I plan on keeping it my DD so eventually i want to stroke it to 2.3 and i would rather just port the stock manifold than buy a new sheet metal one.

That set-up should be more than enough to cover the mopar. You have 2 other very important items not listed. Clutch and tires. I'd recommend a set of Sumitomo HTR+ tires, and a Devo Tuning twin disc. My buddie Cosmo cut high 1.5 60ft's using that clutch with those tires. The clutch will also let you shift a lot faster than with a single disc. Keep it simple and tune it for 29 psi on 110 leaded. 130mph traps with that set-up will not be any trouble. With that mph a high 10 second pass is guaranteed. Cosmo went 10's on a bone stock bottom end and head using only HKS 272's and a standard thrust bearing GT 35(PTE SC 61).
