Anyhow bringing this back, just in case others in the future ask. The EVO IX is capable of 12.9s and lower, but that doesn't mean it is a 12 second car. Most EVO IX owners will not hit 12s, this is due to factory limiter and in many cases (such as mine poor driving). Still the mph has always been there and a few have hit the 12s. Honestly I would have got back to you earlier, but just didn't feel like bringing old sh*t up again, and honestly I know people can find stuff if they look and I hate when I have to do the dirty work. But somebody said it best, depends on your definition of stock. One owner ran a 12.89@107mph, but this was with a mixture 100 ocatne, stock? Another owner ran 12.84@105mph I believe, but this is with an intake or filter, stock? Then there is Hova00 100% bone stock ran a 12.97@106mph, and Mr. Snow 100% bone stock, 12.98@105mph and 12.97@104mph. There may have been other, but I am not searching anymore. The point is the EVO IX is capable of 12s, but in almost all cases it is a low 13s/mid 13s second car.

IMHO, I think if the car hits 12s stock, it hits 12s. That doesn't mean it is a 13 second car. Just because of poor driving doesn't mean the car isn't any less capable. A stock IX is CAPABLE of high 12s, but few drivers can pull it off. Therefore...the vehicle is a high 12 second car. It just probably doesn't look good to have such high traps and only get 13.5 or so.
This reminds me of when the new Shelby GT500 came out. Everyone was getting 12.9s and higher ETs with incredible trap speeds. Then a couple of good drivers squeezed mid-low 12s and times consistant with the traps. The car is capable of those times, but the drivers aren't.

Ok, Here is the one bit of evidence i have... Family was in the stands the 5th day i owned my IX with 1100 miles on it. First time launching it, also had know idea about the rev limiter at the time.
After a few more times at the track, i actually did squeak out a 12.94 @ 107
(But of course for sake of argument, i don't have video!!! )
Soo here is my crappy stock 13.16 @105

I will admit, i had AWD cars before, but never raced them at the track. Infact the launch limiter was cool when it was set at like 5, but not helpful for say.

I tune a very good friend of mine's IX RS. I am with the car at the track every time we run it.
It ran 12.99 @ 104 with a 1.87 60' time.
Mechanically stock. Removed spare/jack and floormats. Flashed ecu mysef to add a few degrees of timing and raise aux rev limit.
Just this weekend we added a test pipe, MBC and K&N with MAF adapter. Also did a MUCH more involved tune. Hoping for very low 12s.
Being an old school DSM guy, I'm very impressed with the EVO IX.

2 problems here:
Either the mph is wrong or the 60' is wrong. You can't run that time with that mph without a really good 60' unless you hit the brakes or let off at the end.
Sorry, that's not stock at all and is therefore not relevant. Even VIIIs have run 12s completely stock, so a IX RS hitting 12.99 with extra timing, usable launch control (>5k), and weight removed is not interesting (nor stock).
