2.3 and 20g "green" 1st dyno

I had my first dyno tune today. I was suppose to have the methanol kit hooked up but I couldn't complete the install before hand so the dyno was without..

I had a very cool time and everyone was great. I had it done at Static X Motorsports in AL. We ran into snags here and there but it all worked out. The shop owner was a little high strung probably from stress. We had a problem with the engine load and throttle position moving relative to one another but we just had to recalibrate some settings. But the shop owner decided he was going to order an ems because he thought mine was a possible knock off . No worries we got it up and running. The next issue was he wanted a base map for my mods to speed things up. The tuner already had most the start up stuff done and ready to start. I had to call David Buschur to see about getting a base map but since I didnt purchase the EMS from then they couldn't give it out even with purchasing it. The shop owner ended up buying an EMS and getting the base map emailed and we used that. THANKS DAVID FOR EMAILING THE MAP . Of course I got crap for them buyin an EMS but I didnt tell him to do that so..

Everything went smooth and I am really happy with the experience. We ended up with 394.6whp and about 375-380wtq. Then he gave a 10% safety buffer and it is currently 381whp.. I have the hp and tq graph that I will post shortly as well as a couple of pics.

He told me that he couldnt do much with timing since my cam gears weren't adjustable. He expects a lot more with that and meth.. He also said that the dyno reads about 15 to 17% lower than some different dyno's. I can't compare that since this is my first time but I was worried about getting my car running great and I feels so much smoother. I will try and get the a/f and boost log in a bit. Just thought I would share my experience with everyone. Let me know what you think!!

394.6 A/F and boost

394.6whp and tq

381

Manifold

very nice one day hope to be able to do a 2.3 as well. Get some heat reflective wrap for your upper coolant or you will be replacing that one soon..

This might be one of the 1st greens with the 2.3l and a graph. I would have stuck it in turbo/drivetrain forums because it will get a lot of hits there. So, boost was at 21psi? I don't know how much lower this can read than a dynojet though, if you made 394 at only 21 psi..

The manifold was doing that because of the load the dyno was putting on it. When we did wot runs it didnt do that and pretty sure it wont do that on the road. I was running on the wastegate spring because my factory solenoid had a nipple magically break off. I could have had better numbers because of that. Does anyone have comments about the curves?? Good, bad, could better, advice on what to adjust?? I thought everything fell off a little too early..

Im just confused. When you can mess with your timing with Ecu Flash or in an EMS. Most people prefer not to run cam gears because of the chance of them loosening.

Thats exactly what I thought. I am new to tuning but though that the EMS controlled timing as well. Hell I dont know..
