So as far as quality AND accuracy goes, Defi is out.
Prosport oil pressure has numerous issues (Google is your friend)
AEM doesn't make what I need in 60mm

Anyone running STRI gauges? Are they good or just rebranded crap like Glowshift/Prosports?

AFAIK Glowshift and Prosport gauges are made by the same manufacturer and can be hit or miss on quality, reliability and longevity.

I wish all these gauges had the option to turn off the opening and closing ceremonies...Main reason I like Autometer is that they don't have those

Had A glowshift mechanical gauge for the mean time till I uprgraded to aem gauges and it was not accurate what so ever, compared to the electrical aem boost gauge (DIGITAL IS PIMP).

I got Defi's and I don't like them. They're more trouble then they're worth. They've been nothing but problems since I got them.

Sorry to hear that.

I think every product is going to have its occasional defective units, regardless of price.

If you poke around a bit you'll see quite a few threads reporting that even with their higher price, DEFI gauges are not the most accurate. In some cases, their boost gauge has reported up to 3 PSI higher than what is actual. This is not acceptable in my opinion.

I originally bumped this thread to see what people are running and their experiences with those products. I plan on picking up and installing some AEM and STRI gauges in the very near future.

From what I've been able to find online, STRI are high quality gauges (by Taiwan, not Japanese standards) that seem to have a fairly decent track record. Not too many people are running them, so that might also be the reason why I can't find too many, "WTF these gauges suck ***!" threads out there. They are at a price point that's way below DEFI, but above Prosport, Glowshift and those other gauges I consider to be poor quality.

I want to spend the money and do it right and do it once.

Yes, actually. Looks like most of the US companies don't make them in 2 3/8" (60mm), which is disappointing. That rules out VDO, Stuart Warner and Classic Instruments.

"Why do you need 60mm?"

Two reasons, they're easier to see at speed in sunlight and they fit in my gauge panel.

I had some AEM's on my Evo 5 and I loved them. Just don't do the tru boost one, get a regular boost controller if you don't already have one. Prostport also has a good track record on this site.
